From the Director of The US VS. John Lennon, comes We Believe a smart, thought-provoking, uplifting and passionate documentary set against the 2008 baseball season and the 100th anniversary of the last Chicago Cubs World Series win.
We Believe explores and reveals the character, spirit and soul of the city and why its people have rooted for the Chicago Cubs so passionately and for so long with mixed emotions.
As the first theatrical documentary to be fully authorized by the Cubs and is produced with full cooperation by Major League Baseball, the film features entertaining and compelling interviews with current Cubs and management including (Ernie Banks, Ryan Dempster and Derek Lee,) former Cubs stars and a distinguished roster of journalists and authors (Bob Costas, George Will,) cultural commentators and politicians(Mayor Richard M. Daley,) as well as stars from the worlds of film, TV and music (Hugh Hefner, Bonnie Hunt, Joe Mantegna, Billy Corgan) who maintain a passion for the team and the city.
The interviews featured in the film will speak to America, Chicago, baseball, the Cubs and themes of loyalty, tradition, hope, disappointment, heart, optimism and faith.
